Can you use Controllers on COD Mobile
If you are a console aficionado, then it makes sense that you may prefer to use an Xbox or PS4 controller to play Call of Duty on your mobile device. In principle, it is as simple as pairing the controller to your phone using Bluetooth. The game should then automatically detect the controller, and pair you with other players who are also using a controller.
Now and again, though, players are reporting issues of their controller not being recognised by the game or showing as paired, but not working on the game. So if this happens to you, is there anything you can do?

How to fix COD Mobile controller not connecting
While in theory, pairing your controller to your phone should be enough, there are examples of players finding that this has not worked. So the first thing to do is to make sure that your controller is enabled within the game. To do this:
- Connect your PS4 or Xbox One controller to your phone via Bluetooth.
- Open Call of Duty: Mobile.
- Enter the Settings menu, select Controller, then Settings.
- Check that the controller is showing as Connected, and that Controller Support is marked as Enabled.
This should ensure that not only is the controller connected but that the game will actually allow it to work. It's worth mentioning as well that you should make sure your controller is paired to your device before you open Call of Duty. This can help avoid any issues with connecting to the device.

Restart your controller for COD Mobile
Another option that has worked for players is to shut down the app and relaunch it. It's important to differentiate between closing the app and minimising it. Minimising the app but keeping the tile open won't remedy this issue.
Closing the app altogether and then relaunching it, can sometimes allow the controller and the game to reconnect properly. As an extension of this point, some players have found that restarting their phone and then relaunching the game can also be a solution to this issue.
One final controller tip…
And finally, some players have noticed that they seem to be experiencing issues after their controller has received a firmware update.
We don't know for certain that this is the cause of the problem; if it is responsible for interfering with that connection, it will be difficult to resolve. Potentially a subsequent update will resolve it. But some people have resorted to buying another controller with older firmware, which they try to avoid updating.
It's a potentially drastic move, and it depends on how much you want to play the game, as to whether that might be an option for you.
